The Diamond Shoals Buoy link can be very useful when the buoy is actually working.  Lately the last couple years it has been not working more than it works though.  Lately the wind reading has been out and it only gives the swell reading.  This still can be helpful as if you have a 4ft swell at 4 seconds you can pretty much guarntee that there is wind offshore.
